Before You Send Your Phone for Repair: 5 Things to Do
A few minutes before you come in can save time and protect your photos and chats. This is the checklist our counter staff go through with customers.

The checklist
- Back up if the phone still turns oniCloud, Google, or a computer. A battery or screen replacement does not normally touch your data, but a backup is always a good habit.
- Remember your screen passcodeThe technician uses it to test the phone after the repair — touch, camera, Face ID, charging.
- Tell us what happenedWhen did it start? Was it dropped, or did it get wet? Small details help us find the cause faster.
- Take a screenshot of Battery HealthFor battery problems: Settings → Battery → Battery Health & Charging. It helps you compare before and after.
- WhatsApp your model firstFor screen, iPad and Android repairs, prices depend on the model — message us and we will tell you the options.
Phone won’t turn on?
You can’t back up a dead phone, and that is exactly when a board repair helps. At iFix the initial diagnosis (Visual Mechanical Inspection, VMI) is free, it usually takes 1–3 days, and you only pay if we fix it. Your data often comes back with the phone, but this can’t be guaranteed for every phone.

- The technician checks first and gives you the price. We only start when you say OK.
- Water damage: free VMI inspection, cleaning RM80–RM120, result on the same day.

Questions people ask
Will I lose my photos after a battery or screen replacement?
Normally no — these repairs don’t touch your data. We still recommend backing up first.
Do I need to give you my passcode?
It lets the technician test everything properly after the repair. If you are not comfortable, talk to our counter first.
Can I wait at the shop?
For a high-quality battery (30–45 minutes) or high-quality screen (45–60 minutes), yes. An Apple genuine battery or screen takes about 2–3 hours.
