How to check

  1. Open Settings › BatteryTap Battery Health & Charging.
  2. Look at Maximum CapacityThis is how much charge the battery can hold compared with when it was new.
  3. Check the messagesIf you see “Service” or a note that peak performance is limited, the battery is worn out.
  4. iPhone 15 and newer: cycle countGo to Settings › General › About to see how many charge cycles the battery has done.

When to replace

  • Maximum Capacity is around 80% or lower
  • The phone shuts down at 20–30%, or in an air-conditioned room
  • You charge twice a day
  • The phone feels slow or gets hot
  • The screen is lifting or there is a gap at the side — the battery may be swelling. Stop using it and bring it in.

Make your battery last longer

Heat is the biggest enemy. Avoid gaming while charging, and don’t leave the phone on the car dashboard in the Klang sun. Use a good-quality cable and charger — cheap ones can run hot.
